PAVING STONE
Original paving stone is yet another item that is increasingly hard to get hold of. There are many differing qualities which will always be reflected in the price. Reclaimed York is still the most classic stone look people want, in either random rectangular flags or crazy paving. We also keep in stock newly quarried york crazy paving as a supplement for our reclaimed materials. Granite setts create a wonderfully warm, rustic look and can include some lovely muted clours of grey, pink and green. Natural slate slabs are also available, lovely in a conservatory, fire hearth or even work tops.
INDIAN PAVING
We also stock the very popular Indian paving stone in various colours. The price of this has made natural stone available to everyone, often being cheaper than some of the replica concrete slabbing available these days. The Indian stone is a hard sandstone with a textured surface and can be used inside or out. We stock three colours: Black Sandstone is a dark grey with some brown throughout and is an excellent replacement for reclaimed York Flag; Raj Blend is a muted mix of greens and browns and ideal for a classic stone look; Fossil Mint has pale sandy colours with orange streaks and black fossil effects, perfect for brightening up dark areas. All colours are available for viewing at our yard. Our Indian stone is of high quality. Please see the Gallery for Indian laid.
WALLING AND ROCKERY STONE
Walling and rockery stone comes in a wide variation of types. Sandstone is the most widely used in the area, having been quarried in Sussex for many years. But different areas would produce variations in the colour, for example sandstone quarried around the Eastbourne area has a distinctly greenish hint. Also regularly available are Yorkstone, Kent Rag, Westmoreland, Flint and many, many more. Again we keep in stock newly quarried york in both walling and rockery to supplement our reclaimed materials.
